Payments through Venue are now easier! ‍

Here's how it works

1. When you're ready to get paid, navigate to your "Request" > "Payment" tab to enter how much your client owes.

1. We'll do the math for you. Deposits are automatically deducted and we can also add taxes (if you charge them).

1. Within seconds, your client gets a payment link via SMS + email. They can add a tip and choose their preferred payment method from all the methods you accept. Cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and financing options like Affirm are now available for your clients.

Common questions about Payments

I take Venmo, Zelle, or Cash App. Can I include them in my payment link to clients?

Yes! If you like taking payments via Venmo, Zelle, Cash App, and even Interac e-transfer, you can add your details "Profile" > "Payments" > "Payment methods" and your clients can choose from card and your other payment methods.

‍Is it really $0 fees?

Yes, with payments it's always "client pays" and we don't charge fees to artists. If clients prefer to pay by card, the processing fee is included in their total. If they prefer Venmo, Zelle, Cash app or e-transfer, there's no fee for clients or artists. This is how we keep more in your pocket.

As an artist, can I pay for the card processing fees instead?

We don't have this option at the moment. If you'd like to absorb the fees, DM us and we'll see what we can do!‍

We're a studio, can our artists use payments too?

Yes! As long as the studio allows artists to take payments themselves, you can get started right away. If your shop accepts payments first and then pays out artists later, we're working on a solution to reduce your admin. Email calvin@venue.ink to get access.

‍Will I get my money paid out right away?

When clients choose to pay by card, Apple Pay, Google Pay or a financing solution, your money will arrive in your bank account within 1 to 2 business days. We're working with our partners at Stripe to further speed up payouts for all artists. We're also working on an optional feature for artists in US and Canada to get paid out instantly for a small fee.

If my client no showed, does Payments let me charge their card?

‍Not yet! You'll keep any deposit they sent you in advance. The new Payments feature lets you charge their card for the remainder of the tattoo, but still requires the client to choose a tip and authorize their card to pay. We're working on way to give artists a way to charge a client's card for cancellations or no shows.

How do I get paid if my client uses Affirm, Klarna, or AfterPay?

‍You get paid the full amount immediately! Affirm, Klarna, and AfterPay manage the instalments with your clients separately. It's a win-win for everyone!
